Curt Schilling went the distance as the Columbus Crowd topped the Tombstone
Huckleberries by a score of 6 to 4 at the ballpark.
Columbus had the winning rally in the 8th inning with 2 runs. After two were
out Craig Counsell was the sparkplug when he drew a walk. Jeff Davanon came
to the plate and drew a walk. Johnny Estrada then drew a walk to load the
bases. Garret Anderson was up next and he laced a single scoring two
teammates. Tombstone had 10 hits in the game while Columbus had 7, but
Columbus had the more timely hits.
The win went to Schilling(8-4) who allowed 4 runs in the game. Steve
Kline(1-1) ended up with the loss in relief. He pitched 2/3 of an inning and
surrendered no hits and 1 walk.
